Ontario Traffic Violations

Free ConsultationWhen you receive a traffic ticket or are charged with a criminal traffic offence there is an opportunity to contest it or defend yourself. This can be stressful and attempting to take care of things without assistance could cost you large fines, licence suspension or even, jail time.

Don’t rush to make a decision!  While the reverse of your traffic offence reads  – “15 days to respond”, you really have up to 44 days.  After which, the ticket should go before the court where you will be found guilty as charged.

Before you decide, you should consult a professional to evaluate your situation.  There are only  a few options available.  You can pay the fine and “accept” the conviction on your record with any other consequences.  You can take your chances and go to court by yourself.  Or you can hire a former Police Officer and licensed, experienced Paralegal to defend your rights and act in your best interest.

Remember, a traffic conviction damages your driving history and could cost you with increased insurance premiums for years afterwards. Even worse, more serious violations like Stunting, 50+ km over, Careless, Failing to Remain and others can result in cancellation of your policy. Traffic Ticket D.O.C.T.O.R. can help you with even the most serious charges, ensuring the best possible outcome is negotiated and your licence is protected.

You may receive a Summons, compelling you to attend court.  These offences notices will provide you with a court date and no set fine or penalty. The majority of these charges are handled by your representative, attending court on your behalf, while you’re at work, at home, or with your family.

CVOR Services

Free ConsultationCommercial vehicle operators represent approximately 20% of all road traffic at any given time. They are among the safest, most conscientious and competent drivers on the road. As professional drivers, they are held to a higher standard and have additional requirements.

The Ministry of Transportation introduced both The Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) system and the Carrier Safety Rating (CSR) program as part of the province’s ongoing commitment to keeping our roads safe. These programs promote the safe operation of trucks and buses on Ontario’s road ways.

If a commercial driver is issued a ticket, their CVOR number is sent to the MTO. The corresponding number of CVOR points, (not the demerit points) are applied against the commercial driver’s CVOR certificate. Too many CVOR points, and their CVOR certificate gets suspended.

It is critical that you properly monitor and manage your Carrier Safety Rating and CVOR record. Some of this information is considered public and is made available to your insurance company, financial institution, and customers. The information contained in these records could make the difference whether you stay in business.

Traffic Ticket D.O.C.T.O.R. understands that protecting your driving record is the highest priority. Getting your CVOR suspended or losing your driver’s licence means losing your business.  As a CVOR expert with over 20 years experience, we know how to handle CVOR issues; tickets, overweight, logbook infractions and more.

If you have been charged with a CVOR offence, contact our office immediately.
